Reflection

  • Reflection

  • Has your approach to writing changed during this course? Yes .How? My first approach to writing was free writing not really using any commas conjunctions or complete sentences. Now that I know how to identify these products I can use them properly to write an essay for future references.

  • Have your attitudes toward brainstorming, drafting, writing, revising, editing, peer reviewing changed during this course? Yes. How? I was unsure how I prefer'd to brainstorm the best way for me is to just jot down the ideas that come into my mind on paper. Writing has become easier using outlines to structure my paragraphs before I would just write everything into one space as one long paragraph.Revising has also become easier finding not only my mistakes but others as well. Editing and Peer Reviewing have become essential for papers because it helps to form your paper they way you want it before meaning a few years ago I didn't edit much or have classmates look at my work.

  • How do you feel you performed in this class? I performed mediocre I think if I had put more time and efforts into my papers and assignments I would have done better.
  • What would you do differently if you took this class again? I would would actually take the time my teacher gives me to evaluate the assignment do the requirements that need to be met for a better score. How you learn also differs from how a subject is taught to you it's very important to know how you learn in order to succeed in your classroom.

Advice to incoming students

Advice to Incoming students

The advice I would give to incoming students would be to share with them  how they can use their resources on campus such as tutors work opportunities and staying focused and on task with their homework because a lot of people drop their class before it ends and have to retake it the next semester because the student did not do their work. I wish I had known to actually put all of my effort into all of my work all of the time because all of the points and work counts. College is an journey and a great experience. New supplies, new clothes, new start. Freshman year is a chance to redefine yourself, to challenge assumptions, to lay the foundation for the rest of your life. Gee whiz, you say, I’m just 18! So we asked for help, from those who have been there, done that. Below are words of wisdom from 25 upperclassmen and recent grads. See the comments section for additional reader submissions. Outline all your papers, and footnote everything. Even if you don’t “do outlines” or think they are a total waste of time, a quick overview of how the paper will be organized will help you loads in the long run. If you find yourself with a half-eaten pizza at 2 in the morning the day the paper is due (with no paper), hey, at least you have an outline. — Casey Chon, Hampshire College, ’18.Don’t compare yourself to other students. It is easy to feel lost, especially when it comes to academics. Remember that everyone has unique talents, and you have four years to cultivate yours. Shivani Dixit, University of Chicago, ’17. In conclusion be yourself have confiedence you do not need to know everything about college but use your resources as you go along the college journey stay on task.

Values

Values

I value Family, Honesty and Personal Goals. group of individuals who share a legal or genetic bond, but for many people, family means much more, and even the simple idea of genetic bonds can be more complicated than it seems.A person who is considered honest is one who displays integrity, is genuine and not deceptive or fraudulent. Honesty is characterized by truth and sincerity. Honesty denotes the quality of being upright in principle and action. Honesty implies truthfulness, fairness in dealing with others, and refusal to engage in fraud, deceit, or dissembling.Individual values reflect how you show up in your life and your specific needs-the principles you live by and what you consider important for your self-interest. Individual values include: enthusiasm, creativity, humility and personal fulfilment. Relationship values reflect how you relate to other people in your life, be they friends, family or colleagues in your organization. Relationship values include: openness, trust, generosity and caring. Organizational values reflect how your organization shows up and operates in the world. financial growth, teamwork, productivity and strategic alliances organization relates to society. Societal values include: future generations, environmental awareness, ecology and sustainability.Family why do I value them? and what do they mean to me? I value my family because they helped shape me into the person I am today that's why I have strong values and beliefs great personality and they support me they mean a lot to me I wouldn't trade them for any thing. Honesty is important to me because if you're not trustworthy you're not worth the time. honesty is one of the more important values because it shows how much you're respect and meaning you give someone. Goals are very important also if you don't set any you'll be living day to day with no purpose and our purpose in life is to find our purpose. Expands your mind shows you how much you can achieve when you plan for it work hard at it. In conclusion values are important thy have meaning and family honesty and goals help improve your life.

Advice Assignment

The best Advice

The best advice I've received was from my varsity basketball coach. Coach John said; Whatever you do go hard at it, that means go hard inside and outside of practice academically, "I can't stress enough about grades your grades are important." even if there's a girl you like ask her out before another man does. Also be respectful to your elders". Which I think means put effort into everything you do and you'll see the results you want to. The advice I can take for the new students from the upperclassmen is that you just have to be willing to learn do the work understand the system be yourself and develop people skills we can use this as a been there don't that type of situation .  For example new students get lost on campus some of the students that have been there before them can show them what it is they're looking for. It is impossible to live without failure teaches you thing about yourself you may have not known was in you until tested by adversity. Rowling has a powerful speech about failure once you've decided to make a change for yourself its very possible you just need confidence belief and persistence. In conclusion Advice is what you make it whether you decide to use it or not is up to you learn from failure and your mistakes listen to people who have been in your situation before so you can have a better out come and go hard in everything you do.

Goals assignment

What are your main goals?

My main goals are to become successful at life including my relationship with my family.I also plan to become wealthy either by my basketball career, or having my own business where I can explore new fashion designs to sell clothing products every one could see themselves wearing.Innovate to create useful products for everyday people. Smaller goals I have finish community college transfer to a university get my degree in business and entrepreneurship for people who do not know what entrepreneurship is it is to manage a business or create innovate not only to produce profit but to take part in the increasingly competitive global market." Carol Dweck researches “growth mindset” — the idea that we can grow our brain's capacity to learn and to solve problems. In this talk, she describes two ways to think about a problem that’s slightly too hard for you to solve. Are you not smart enough to solve it … or have you just not solved it yet? A great introduction to this influential field."

The power of believing you can improve and achieve some students would cheat if they've failed a test or quiz or look on someone else's paper to see if they're grade was worse than theirs to feel better about themselves.you can learn from the process of error and correct it your brain works when you are actively engaged in the class discussion a stronger connection with your neurons are made when you try harder to learn something new and difficult effort and difficulty are transformed so that you an reach your goals so you can think and evaluate problems solutions school gets you closer to where you want to be so dream big and achieve." Useful questions but where do you start with such a big agenda? Perhaps by asking the most important question first: why does goal setting matter in the first place?

Why am I here? The purpose I serve on the earth is questionable I have not found that out yet but I love music, basketball, and fashion somewhere in between these subjects I will find the calling for me. Where have I been? Past experiences I have to share would to be able to reach your goals you have to focus stay in school listen to your instructor and parents stay out of trouble be the same person you've always been. Where am I now? Currently I love music, movies, clothes, shoes ,sports. posses strong thinking abilities when i want to weakness not having patience.Where do I want to get? I want to be able to get to all of my goals and put my family to where they can reach theirs too.How shall I get there? persistence and hard work. How will I know when I've arrived? I''ll make a career out of it. Whats Holding me back and Who can help? I'm holding myself back I can only help my self but its good to have inspirations.
